About the role
As a Maintainer - Civil Assets, you will play an important role in maintaining the City's civil infrastructure, including concrete assets, paving and drainage systems. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will deliver high-quality maintenance services that keep community assets safe, functional and well maintained. Reporting to the Concrete Maintenance Team Leader, you will also have opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and undertake higher duties when required.
Location: City of Melville Operations Centre
Salary: Level 4 $77,579.93 to $80,321.08 pro-rata p.a. + 12% Super
Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time
About the Role
Maintain and repair the City’s civil infrastructure assets, including concrete paths, kerbing, slabs, brick paving and drainage systems.
Undertake concrete construction and maintenance works, including formwork, concrete mixing, pouring, finishing and repairs.
Inspect civil assets, identify maintenance issues and implement practical, cost-effective solutions in consultation with the Concrete Maintenance Team Leader.
Operate and maintain a range of plant, equipment and power tools safely and effectively to support maintenance activities.
Carry out drainage maintenance and associated civil works to ensure community infrastructure remains safe and functional.
Implement Basic Traffic Management requirements and maintain safe work sites for staff, contractors and the public.
Assist with daily reporting, record keeping and the delivery of maintenance programs to ensure works are completed efficiently.
Promote and comply with Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) standards, policies and legislative requirements.
Contribute to continuous improvement, quality assurance initiatives and the delivery of high-quality customer-focused services.
Essential Experience and Qualifications
Current MR Class Driver's Licence.
White Card.
Experience in civil maintenance, concrete or paving works.
Knowledge of WHS requirements and safe work practices.
Ability to operate plant, equipment and power tools.
Strong teamwork, communication and customer service skills.
Sound problem-solving, organisation and time management skills.
Desirable Experience and Qualifications
Basic Traffic Management Certificate.
Senior First Aid Certificate.
Experience with in-situ and pre-cast concrete repairs.
Experience operating and maintaining civil maintenance plant and equipment.
Experience working in local government, civil construction or infrastructure maintenance environments.
