Standards and Accreditation Project Officer - Remote / Work from Home

First Nations Advocates Against Family Violence (FNAAFV) was established in May 2012 and is the national Peak body for community-controlled Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Family Violence Prevention and Legal Services (FVPLS) organisations around Australia. FVPLS’ provide legal and other holistic and culturally safe non-legal services to First Nations people affected by family violence – predominantly First Nations women and their children. FNAAFV’s mission is to support our FVPLS members, and as a foundational member of the Coalition of Peaks, be a leader at aiming to reduce family violence affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, their children, families and communities.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Standards and Accreditation Project Officer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will research and review existing industry standards and accreditation processes that apply for the Family Violence Prevention and Legal Services sector with a view to developing a suite of sector standards that ensure a consistent, professional and culturally safe standard of care to all who access our member services. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure a high quality, compliance, and continuous improvement across our programs.

 Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the FVPLS standards and accreditation project from end-to-end including scoping, project initiation, research and analysis, and engagement with key stakeholders. 

• Development / identification of a suite of potential standards for the FVPLS sector and ascertaining the feasibility of implementation. 

• Organising meetings, taking minutes, maintaining records and preparing documentation.  

• Acting as a key liaison between FNAAFV and external stakeholders to ensure project tasks are actioned and timeframes are met.  

• Supporting the day-to-day tracking of deliverables, deadlines, and workflows to ensure the project remains on schedule.  

• Preparing regular project reports, status updates, and briefings for internal use and for external stakeholders. 

Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated knowledge of standards, quality assurance, or accreditation processes preferably within the legal and / or social services sectors. 
• Demonstrated experience in project management and policy development.
• Strong research, analysis, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational skills with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
• Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, preferably in a research or policy context.
