Junior Estimator

City Linemarking is looking for a motivated and organised Junior Estimator to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in estimating, construction, civil works and project management.

Working closely with our senior estimators, project managers and operations team, you will assist with preparing accurate and competitive quotations for linemarking, roadmarking, asphalt and associated civil works.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with reviewing tender documents, plans, drawings and scopes of work.
• Assist with preparing project take-offs and measuring quantities.
• Obtain and compare supplier and subcontractor pricing.
• Prepare estimates and quotations under the guidance of senior estimators.
• Review project requirements and identify materials, labour, plant and equipment required.
• Assist with tender submissions and ensure all required documentation is included.
• Maintain accurate estimating records and pricing databases.
• Follow up suppliers and subcontractors for outstanding pricing.
• Assist with preparing variations and additional works pricing.
• Communicate with clients, suppliers and subcontractors when required.
• Attend site inspections when required.
• Ensure estimates are completed accurately and within required deadlines.
• Learn and develop knowledge of construction methods, materials, specifications and industry standards.

What We're Looking For

• Previous construction, estimating or administration experience is desirable but not essential.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good numerical and analytical skills.
• Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to read and understand plans and construction documentation.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team.
• Construction or civil industry experience will be highly regarded.

This position is designed for someone who wants to develop into a fully qualified Estimator and potentially progress into a Senior Estimator or Project Management role.
