An opportunity currently exists for a Food Technologist – R&D on a full-time fixed term for 12 months. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Conduct in-depth research on emerging food technologies, ingredients and processing   

• Lead the evaluation and application of emerging ingredients, technologies and processing solutions to support business growth and innovation.   

• Lead flour and ingredient performance assessments to support product consistency and customer outcomes.   

• Develop and optimise formulations across bakery applications, including breads,sweet goods and functional nutrition products.   

• Apply expertise in ingredient functionality, flour performance and baking technologies to solve product and process challenges 

• Develop and maintain product specifications, trial reports, technical assessments and project documentation through Optiva and Sensai.   

About You 

To be successful in this role, you will have: 

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related field. 

• Strong understanding of the bakery category  

• Familiarity with food safety regulations and standards.   

• 5+ years of experience in food product development.  

• Deep understanding of ingredient roles (e.g., emulsifiers, stabilisers, proteins, enzymes, fibres).  

• Experience in optimising ingredient interactions for texture, flavour, shelf-life and nutritional value.   

• Experience with sensory analysis and consumer testing.
