Merak GF Artisan Deli & Café – Redland Bay

Casual | Approximately 18 hours per week

Merak GF is a busy, award-winning 100% gluten-free café in Redland Bay, known for exceptional food, quality coffee and a supportive team culture.

We are looking for an experienced Kitchen Assistant / Cook to join our growing kitchen team.

This is not an entry-level position.

Previous experience working in a commercial café or restaurant kitchen is essential.

While our preference is an experienced Kitchen Assistant or Cook, we are happy to consider applications from motivated apprentice chefs who already have practical commercial kitchen experience.

About the Role

Working alongside our chefs and kitchen team, you will assist with food preparation, service and kitchen operations, helping deliver the high standards Merak GF is known for.

Duties include:

• Food preparation and meal assembly
• Assisting during busy service periods
• Preparing café menu items
• Portioning and packaging products
• Stock rotation (FIFO)
• Kitchen cleaning and organisation
• Dishwashing and maintaining a clean workspace
• Following food safety and allergen procedures
• Assisting with preparation for our gluten-free bakehouse, Souly GF

Availability

We currently have approximately 18 hours per week, with the opportunity for additional hours as the role develops.

You must be available to work:

• Saturday (evening service – approximately 8:30 pm finish)
• Sunday
• Monday
• Tuesday

Flexibility to work additional shifts as required is highly desirable.
