About the role
Role Description This is a part-time, entry / junior Business Analyst role based in Melbourne, VIC, with a hybrid work arrangement that combines on-site collaboration and some work-from-home flexibility. The Business Analyst will support data collection, analysis, and reporting related to agricultural and rural development projects, turning insights into practical recommendations for program improvement. Day-to-day responsibilities include documenting business requirements, mapping existing business processes, and assisting in the design of more efficient workflows and systems. The role involves working closely with program teams and stakeholders to clarify needs, prepare presentations and brief reports, and contribute to monitoring and evaluation activities. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain clear communication, uphold data quality standards, and support continuous learning across the organization.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong Analytical Skills and foundational Business Analysis capabilities.Candidates should possess the ability to understand and document Business Requirements and translate them into clear actions.Candidates should possess skills in reviewing and improving Business Process workflows.Candidates should possess effective Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication with diverse stakeholders.Relevant academic background in business, economics, data analytics, development studies, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).Comfort working with spreadsheets, basic data analysis tools, and reporting formats; familiarity with project management tools is an advantage.Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment, manage multiple tasks, and maintain attention to detail.Interest in agricultural and rural development, social impact, or the not-for-profit sector; prior internship or volunteer experience is beneficial.
