Enrolled Nurse (Support Work)

Shift Details

Location: Aspendale
Shift: Daily at 6:00 pm
Client: Aged Care Client

The Enrolled Nurse will provide daily diabetes management support, including blood glucose monitoring and prescribed insulin administration, in accordance with the client’s medication chart, care plan, clinical guidelines and organisational policies.

Key Responsibilities

• BGL & Insulin: Check BGL as required and administer prescribed insulin at 6:00 pm.
• Monitoring: Monitor for signs of hypoglycaemia, hyperglycaemia or other concerns and escalate to the RN as required.
• Medication Safety: Follow medication administration, infection control and sharps disposal procedures.
• Documentation: Record BGL results, insulin administration and relevant observations accurately.
• Client Care: Maintain the client’s dignity, comfort and safety throughout the shift.
• Communication: Report any changes, concerns, missed doses or abnormal BGL results to the supervising RN.
• Scope of Practice: Perform all duties within the EN’s scope of practice and in accordance with the client’s care plan.
