General Keeper

About the Position:

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is currently seeking an experienced Casual General Keeper to join our Wildlife team!

This hands-on role is responsible for supporting the daily care, husbandry, and welfare of animals across different wildlife sections within the sanctuary. You’ll play an important role in maintaining high animal care standards while helping guests connect with and learn about Australia’s unique wildlife.

As a General Keeper, you’ll maintain clean and secure exhibits, monitor animal health and behaviour, assist with daily husbandry tasks, and follow all relevant animal welfare procedures. You’ll also conduct informative presentations and deliver safe, respectful, and engaging animal visitor interactions.

Working closely with the Wildlife Manager, Curator, and Heads of Department, you’ll support smooth day-to-day operations across the Wildlife team. The role may also include assisting with the harvesting and delivery of fresh koala food leaf to support Lone Pine’s koala population.

This role suits someone who is enthusiastic, dependable, physically capable, and confident working both autonomously and as part of a fast-paced team.
