About the role
Ready for something different?
What if your next career move wasn't just another clinic?
Red Centre Health Focus is looking for an experienced Exercise Physiologist with a minimum of 2 years' experience to join our growing multidisciplinary team in Alice Springs, Central Australia.
This is an opportunity to step outside the traditional metro clinic environment, work with an incredibly diverse caseload and experience life in one of Australia's most unique regions.
Looking for a change of pace and a new adventure?
Alice Springs offers an incredible outdoor lifestyle, with hiking, camping, mountain biking, trail running and some of Australia's most spectacular landscapes right on your doorstep.
And for an Exercise Physiologist with a passion for sport, almost every sport you can imagine is played here — from AFL, soccer, rugby and basketball to running, cycling, athletics and more. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in the local sporting community and work with active clients.
Come for the career. Stay for the adventure.
We're ideally looking for someone who can commit to a minimum of 12 months, giving you time to settle into the community, build your caseload and truly experience Central Australia.
Your caseload will be varied, challenging and genuinely interesting.
You'll have the opportunity to work across:
Clinical rehabilitation
Chronic health conditions
Musculoskeletal rehabilitation
Strength and conditioning
Sports rehabilitation
Injury prevention
Return-to-sport rehabilitation
Functional decline, mobility and balance
Individual and group exercise programs
You'll:
Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand each client's needs, goals and functional capacity.
Design and deliver evidence-based exercise, rehabilitation and conditioning programs.
Work with athletes and active clients to improve strength, performance and return to sport.
Monitor progress and adapt programs to achieve meaningful outcomes.
Work alongside physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals within a multidisciplinary team.
Educate clients on exercise, rehabilitation and self-management.
Complete clinical documentation and reports for referrers and stakeholders.
Help develop new rehabilitation and exercise programs within our growing clinic.
No two days will look the same.
We're looking for someone who:
Has a minimum of 2 years' experience as an Exercise Physiologist.
Holds a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology or equivalent.
Is accredited or eligible for accreditation with ESSA.
Has strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Is passionate about helping people improve their health, rehabilitation and performance.
Can work independently while contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team.
Has an interest in sports, strength and rehabilitation.
Enjoys variety and is excited by a diverse and challenging caseload.
Is ready for a new experience and open to relocating to Central Australia.
You'll work from our purpose-built rehabilitation gym, with modern equipment and the space to deliver high-quality exercise rehabilitation and performance programs.
Rather than being limited to one area of practice, you'll have the opportunity to develop across clinical rehabilitation, chronic health, musculoskeletal rehabilitation and sport.
You'll work alongside our physiotherapy team, providing opportunities for collaboration and professional growth.
We support ongoing professional development and encourage our clinicians to develop areas of interest and contribute to new services and programs.
As a staff member, you'll have free access to our Gym and Recovery Centre, including:
Ice bath / cold water immersion
Infrared sauna
Compression recovery boots and arms
Red light therapy
Because we believe our clinicians should have access to the same recovery tools we provide to our clients.
Eligible relocating clinicians may also have access to the $7,000 NT PHN Thrive Relocation Grant, as well as relevant scholarships and bursaries available to support professionals relocating to the Northern Territory.
