The Opportunity

We are seeking a results driven HVAC Project Estimator with solid commercial experience and a thorough understanding of the mechanical services industry.

The ideal candidate will have the confidence and expertise to run estimates from start to finish on commercial projects valued between $50k and $1.5 million. Work comes through builders, head contractors, consultants and direct clients, so you will be dealing with a mix of full tender documentation and design and construct packages where the design is yours to develop.

Role Responsibilities

• Complete estimations for commercial HVAC projects valued between $50k and $1.5 million.

• Take off from architectural, mechanical and services drawings and interpret specifications, scope of works and subcontract conditions.

• Prepare and submit tender and quotation documents, including scope inclusions, exclusions and qualifications.

• Obtain and review pricing from suppliers and subcontractors, and build lasting relationships with them.

• Hand over won projects to project managers with accurate scope, budget and equipment information.

• Attend site inspections and pre tender meetings where required.

• Follow up on outstanding quotations to convert opportunities.

• Deal professionally with builders, consultants, clients and site staff.

Key Competencies

• Proven commercial HVAC estimating experience.

• Working knowledge of VRV/VRF, ducted, split, chilled water and mechanical ventilation systems.

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and BCA/AS 1668 ventilation requirements.

• Expertise in Bluebeam or similar mark up software.

• Understanding of commercial contract terms, programmes and staged works.

• Project management experience (desirable).

• High attention to detail.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Effective organisational and time management abilities.

• Ability to develop practical, buildable design solutions.
