About the role

We are seeking a Rural Merchandise Warehouse & Sales Assistant to join our team on a casual basis. This role is based in Kingaroy, Queensland and offers flexibility for candidates seeking part-time or variable hours work. As a Warehouse & Sales Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting both our warehouse operations and front-of-house sales activities. You will be responsible for maintaining our inventory, assisting customers, and ensuring our store and warehouse are well-organised and efficiently run. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced retail environment and has a genuine interest in rural merchandise, agricultural and landscaping products.

Key responsibilities

• Receiving, unpacking and storing merchandise in the warehouse, ensuring items are correctly catalogued and easily accessible including stacking of 20kg bags on shelves daily.

• Maintaining warehouse organisation and cleanliness, following health and safety protocols at all times

• Assisting customers on the shop floor, providing knowledgeable advice about rural merchandise and products and deliverying products to customers vehicles

• Processing sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems

• Handling customer enquiries and resolving issues professionally and courteously

• Loading and unloading goods, utilising warehouse equipment safely and appropriately

• Supporting promotional activities and maintaining product displays in accordance with company standards

What we're looking for

• Previous experience in retail, warehouse operations or a related field (desirable but not essential)

• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clientele

• Physical capability to perform manual handling tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy items

• Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and stock management

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment

• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing priorities and casual shift patterns

• Knowledge of rural merchandise, farming practices or agricultural products is advantageous

• Commitment to health and safety standards and workplace procedures

• Basic numeracy and literacy skills, including familiarity with computerised systems

• A friendly, proactive attitude and genuine interest in providing excellent customer service
