Estimator – Ceilings & Partitions

Newline Commercial is a Brisbane-based commercial contractor specialising in commercial ceilings, partitions, plasterboard systems and carpentry.

Working with many of Queensland's leading builders, we deliver projects across retail, education, healthcare, industrial and commercial sectors.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team based in Eight Mile Plains.

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders for commercial ceilings, partitions and carpentry packages.

This role also plays a key part in the successful transition from tender to construction. Following project award, you will work closely with our engineering and project teams to ensure a smooth handover before procurement and construction commence.

• Review tender invitations, drawings, specifications and contract documentation.

• Perform quantity take-offs using Cubit.

• Prepare accurate material, labour and plant cost estimates.

• Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.

• Identify scope gaps, risks and tender clarifications.

• Prepare and submit competitive tender proposals within required deadlines.

• Respond to tender queries from builders and clients.

• Maintain tender documentation and estimating records.

Following successful tenders, you will:

• Attend meetings with our engineer to review the project scope and engineering drawings.

• Conduct a comprehensive handover to the Project Manager, including project scope, engineering drawings, material schedules, supplier quotations and any key project requirements.

• Provide estimating support to the Project Manager during the procurement and early construction stages when required.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Minimum 3 years' estimating experience in commercial construction.

• Experience estimating ceilings, partitions, plasterboard systems or carpentry packages will be highly regarded.

• Proficiency in Cubit (essential).

• Strong understanding of quantity take-offs and construction costing.

• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tenders and work to deadlines.

• Fluent Mandarin and English communication skills (essential).
