Cafe Manager and Barista positions

We are seeking an experienced Cafe Manager or barista to join the team at Aromas Fine Foods in Launceston, Tasmania. This is a full-time position based on-site at our Launceston TAS 7250 location. As Cafe Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our cafe, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety. This role is pivotal to the success of our establishment and plays a key part in delivering an outstanding experience to our guests.

Key responsibilities

1. Overseeing daily cafe operations, including opening and closing procedures, stock management, and cash handling

2. Managing and supervising cafe staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management

3. Ensuring compliance with food safety standards, health regulations, and company policies

4. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the cafe

5. Managing inventory, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs

6. Delivering exceptional customer service and resolving customer concerns promptly and professionally

7. Monitoring and maintaining quality standards for food and beverage preparation

8. Contributing to menu planning and promotional activities

9. Preparing financial reports and managing budgets

10. Ensuring the cafe meets health and safety requirements at all times

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience as a cafe manager in a hospitality setting

2. Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate staff

3. Excellent knowledge of food safety standards and health regulations

4. Proficiency in point-of-sale systems and cafe management software

5. Outstanding customer service skills and a customer-focused approach

6. Strong organisational and time management abilities

7. Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and cost control

8. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays as required

9. A passion for hospitality and fine food

10. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

11. Relevant hospitality qualifications or certificates (such as RSA or food handling certification) are desirable
