Supervisor Paint and Blast

Lead painting, blasting & protective coating works on major industrial projects, driving safety, quality & delivery excellence
The opportunity

We're seeking an experienced Paint & Blast Supervisor to join our Industrial & Energy team, leading blasting, painting and protective coating activities across major industrial projects on a 2:2 roster starting November 2026.

Working closely with project teams, QA/QC and our client, Chevron, you'll play a key role in ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll coordinate crews, manage productivity and champion a strong safety culture.

What you'll doLead and supervise blasting, painting and coating crews onsiteEnsure all surface preparation and coating activities meet project specifications and quality requirementsCoordinate inspections, hold points and QA/QC activities with client representativesMonitor environmental conditions and coating application requirementsPlan labour, equipment and materials to maintain project schedulesManage subcontractors and direct hire personnel to achieve performance targetsComplete reporting, progress updates and project documentationDrive a Zero Harm culture and maintain compliance with site proceduresWhat we offerOpportunity to work on high-profile industrial and energy projectsLong-term project pipeline with a leading industry teamSuite of Downer benefits, including health and wellbeing initiativesCareer development opportunities within a growing businessSupportive culture focused on safety, teamwork and continuous improvementWhat we're looking forTrade qualification in Industrial Painting & Blasting or similarNACE certification required Strong supervisory experience within mining, oil & gas, energy or heavy industrial environmentsProven experience managing painting, blasting and protective coating activitiesSound knowledge of coating systems, surface preparation and inspection requirementsAbility to interpret project specifications and manage quality outcomesStrong planning, leadership and stakeholder management skillsCurrent Driver's Licence and White CardWorking at Heights and Confined Space tickets desirableAbout the team
