About the role
About RSPCA Queensland
For nearly 140 years, RSPCA Queensland has been a leading animal welfare charity, dedicated to improving the lives of animals – whether domestic, farmed, or native. We care for over 42,000 animals annually, relying on the generosity of animal lovers like you to fund 91% of our life-changing services.
Our Purpose: We exist for animals to live better lives.
About the Role
As the Animal Care Manager based in Townsville, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the shelter while acting as the key connection point between our local team, volunteers, community stakeholders and the broader RSPCA Queensland network. Balancing operational leadership with community engagement, you will ensure animals receive the best possible outcomes through strong partnerships, efficient processes and collaborative ways of working.
From supporting inspectorate operations and driving adoptions and foster outcomes, to leading community programs and developing local initiatives, this is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will also play an important role in shaping the future of animal welfare services in North Queensland by identifying opportunities to grow our impact across the region.
If you’re someone who loves variety, enjoys rolling up your sleeves and thrives in a role where leadership, operations, community engagement and animal welfare intersect, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
