Plater - Hunterston B

Altrad are currently looking for an experienced Plater to join the team at Hunterston B for the upcoming project.

The work pattern for this position is, Monday - Friday, 38 hours. This is a fixed term position which requires BPSS clearance or higher. Starting 1st September 2026 until 17th December 2026 approx.

The position is paid under NAECI agreements. Pay rate: £23.45 per hour

Key Responsibilities

To ascertain job requirements from drawings or other specifications.To mark out and develop profiles on plate, structural steelwork and pipework.To produce templates for marking and/or drilling.To produce angled fabrications using bending or folding machinery.To form rolled steel sections using section rolling machinery.To set out plate work for structural steelwork fabrication.To produce and install structural steelwork fabrications.To produce and install plate work assemblies of square, rectangular, cylindrical or conical form.To produce and install heavy steelwork beams or sections.To produce and install structural lattice girders.To use manual metal arc welding to weld fabrications or structural steelwork.To use straight line and profile cutting machines.To operate overhead crane in a safe manner using basic slinging.To carryout Stand-by and fire watch duties.To adhere to all safety requirements including safety checks of tools and equipment.To use Oxy/fuel hand burning/heating/cutting equipment.To use all relevant workshops/site equipment associated with job requirements including all relevant training/certification requirements

Key Requirements

You will have completed a recognized training programme and have experience within the oil & gas industry or other continuous process industry.Appropriate qualifications such as CompEx, City & Guilds, ONC/HNC or equivalent should be held.Must be BPSS cleared or willing to undergo clearance CCNSG Safety Passport NVQ level 3
