About the role
We are seeking discerning, action-oriented people to join our Presbytery Support team. As a Presbytery Support Officer, you will support the Church’s mission and strategic growth by providing support, advice and connection to build capability and capacity across staff, ministry agents, office bearers and volunteers within congregational and presbytery contexts.
We have two opportunities available; one full-time role and one part-time role (0.65) with hybrid working arrangements, providing flexibility while supporting effective collaboration and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with key stakeholders, particularly congregations and presbyteries, and liaise with Queensland Synod support functions and subject matter experts to provide high-quality, proactive administrative advice and support.
Work collaboratively within the Presbytery Support team to facilitate and coordinate support services across presbyteries and congregations.
Act as a key point of contact between presbyteries, congregations, committees and other stakeholders, including the Synod Office, as required.
Facilitate effective communication across presbyteries and stakeholder groups.
Participate in the review, implementation and evaluation of operational and administrative initiatives that support the strategic priorities identified within Presbyteries.
Develop and contribute expertise to the Presbytery Support team in one or more areas, including Safe Church, finance, property, compliance, risk management and general administration.
Build and maintain strong relationships that enable advice and support to be delivered effectively and consistently.
Support stakeholders in navigating and resolving challenges that may arise from new initiatives and changes in ways of working.
Develop and maintain an understanding of organisational culture, values and behaviours, and consistently model these in everyday work practices.
Foster trust, collaboration and positive working relationships.
What You'll Bring
Certificate III in Business Administration or equivalent qualification (desirable).
Eligibility to obtain and maintain a current Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
Experience in service delivery within complex multi-site environments.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to actively listen and build trusted relationships.
Ability to navigate complex situations, influence outcomes and support effective decision-making across diverse stakeholder groups (strongly desired).
Strong interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
A mature, patient and considered approach, with sound judgement and high ethical standards.
Passionate about supporting others, with a customer-service mindset and compassionate approach.
Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively, maintaining a consistent and professional approach.
Strong attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including SharePoint and Teams.
An understanding of, and commitment to, the ethos of the Uniting Church in Australia is advantageous.
