Full-time | 38 hours per week | $83,000 per year plus superannuation
B&M Plastics is a Sydney-based manufacturing and fabrication company specialising in custom plastic products, plastics moulding, displays and fabrication solutions for the commercial, industrial, retail and manufacturing sectors.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Carpenter, Joiner and Plastics Moulding Technician to join our production team in Yennora.
About the RoleThis is a hands-on, full-time position involving carpentry, joinery, plastics moulding and the manufacture and assembly of custom products, components, frames and displays.
You will work from drawings and specifications while collaborating with our production and fabrication teams to deliver accurate, high-quality finished products.
Key ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret drawings, plans, specifications and production requirements.
Measure, mark, cut and shape timber, plastics, composite materials and other materials.
Construct and assemble frames, structures, displays and custom components.
Set up and operate plastics moulding and forming equipment.
Heat, form, mould, trim and finish plastic components.
Prepare moulds, jigs, templates and materials for production.
Monitor moulding processes and make adjustments to achieve the required quality and dimensions.
Operate hand tools, power tools, woodworking machinery and plastics fabrication equipment safely.
Join materials using appropriate fastening, bonding, welding and assembly methods.
Inspect moulded and fabricated components for defects, accuracy and finish.
Complete custom production work accurately and within project deadlines.
Perform repairs, adjustments and modifications when required.
Work closely with production and fabrication team members.
Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
To be successful in this position, you will have:
A relevant qualification in carpentry and joinery, plastics fabrication or equivalent trade experience.
At least one year of relevant experience in carpentry, joinery, plastics moulding or custom fabrication.
Experience operating plastics moulding or forming equipment.
The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Sound knowledge of carpentry methods, plastics, materials, tools and machinery.
Strong measuring, practical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and pride in your workmanship.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A reliable, practical and safety-focused approach.
Experience in thermoforming, vacuum forming, plastics fabrication, manufacturing, shopfitting or display production will be highly regarded.
