Senior System Administrator Infrastructure Engineer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer / System Administrator to manage, maintain, and enhance enterprise infrastructure environments across on-premises and cloud platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting infrastructure operations, system deployments, configuration management, and operational readiness while ensuring the availability, security, and performance of critical IT systems. This role requires strong expertise in server administration, infrastructure technologies, automation, and system design, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable infrastructure solutions.

Your Role and Responsibilities

• Configure, administer, and maintain infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.
  
• Support infrastructure deployment, integration, and operational readiness activities.
  
• Install, configure, upgrade, and decommission Linux and/or Windows server environments.
  
• Create, maintain, and update system build documentation, configuration baselines, and operational procedures.
  
• Monitor infrastructure health, availability, capacity, and performance to ensure reliable service delivery.
  
• Implement infrastructure maintenance, upgrades, and system improvements in line with organisational standards.
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, server, networking, and platform-related issues.
  
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and maintenance using appropriate tools and scripting.
  
• Collaborate with technical teams to support system integration, testing, and implementation activities.
  
• Contribute to disaster recovery planning, operational acceptance, and infrastructure resilience initiatives.
  
• Ensure infrastructure solutions comply with security, operational, and governance requirements.
  
• Provide technical guidance and recommendations to support continuous infrastructure improvement

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for candidates with a combination of the following:   

• Demonstrated experience managing and improving infrastructure availability, performance, and service continuity.
  
• Experience supporting disaster recovery planning, testing, and implementation to ensure business continuity.
  
• Strong expertise in IT infrastructure administration, including servers, networking, storage, virtualisation, and cloud technologies.
  
• Experience implementing infrastructure maintenance, upgrades, and operational support using industry best practices.
  
• Proficiency in infrastructure automation through scripting and infrastructure management tools.
  
• Ability to monitor infrastructure performance, investigate operational issues, and implement effective resolutions.
  
• Experience designing scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure solutions that balance business and technical requirements.
  
• Ability to evaluate design options, assess technical risks, and recommend appropriate infrastructure solutions.
  
• Experience leading or supporting system installation, migration, upgrade, and decommissioning activities.
  
• Strong knowledge of configuration management, system documentation, operational procedures, and infrastructure standards.
  
• Excellent problem-solving, stakeholder communication, and technical documentation skills.
  
• Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional technical teams in a complex enterprise environment.
