DRAFTSPERSON - RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION

About the role

You will be responsible for preparing accurate, creative and compliant drawings throughout the design, approvals and construction process across high-end residential and commercial projects. The role will suit someone who understands how to translate design concepts into practical, buildable and beautifully resolved documentation while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing creative and considered concept, planning, working and construction drawings

• Producing detailed residential and commercial documentation suitable for approvals and construction

• Supporting the development of high-end custom homes and commercial projects from initial concepts through to completion

• Amending drawings in response to client selections, consultant information and site requirements

• Coordinating drawings with engineering, energy assessments, surveys and other consultant documentation

• Reviewing plans for accuracy, buildability, design quality and compliance

• Assisting with planning and building approval submissions

• Liaising with the construction, design and administration teams

• Maintaining organised drawing files, revisions and project records

• Managing several projects and deadlines concurrently

About you

• Demonstrated experience in residential drafting, with commercial drafting experience highly regarded

• A strong appreciation for creativity, high-end design and quality architectural detailing

• Strong knowledge of Australian construction methods and documentation

• An understanding of the National Construction Code, relevant Australian Standards and Western Australian planning and building requirements

• Proficiency in ArchiCAD, 4D Library and relevant design software

• Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy

• The ability to interpret surveys, engineering drawings and consultant documentation

• Strong organisational and time-management skills

• The ability to work independently while contributing to a close-knit team

• Clear written and verbal communication skills
