PGP are now embarking on the next phase of their growth, and as part of that evolution, are seeking a commercially astute and strategically minded General Manager to work alongside the Partner group to take responsibility for the leadership, operational performance and ongoing growth of the business.
This is a newly created, and highly visible, leadership position that will play a critical role in shaping the future of the firm.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Partners, you will become the operational leader of the practice, ensuring the business runs efficiently, profitably and strategically.
You will oversee the firm's Accounting, SMSF and Wealth divisions, bringing together people, processes, systems and commercial performance to create a best-in-class professional services environment.
Most importantly, you will help transition the Partners away from day-to-day operational management, allowing them to focus on clients, business development and growth initiatives.
This role offers genuine influence, autonomy and the opportunity to leave a lasting mark on an already successful business.
Key Responsibilities
You will:Lead the day-to-day operational performance of the firmDrive business efficiency, productivity and continuous improvement initiativesManage financial performance, profitability, budgeting and reportingProvide leadership, coaching and accountability across managers and team leadersChampion a high-performance culture aligned with the firm's valuesOversee resource planning, workflow management and service deliveryImplement strategic initiatives and monitor progress against business objectivesEnhance systems, automation and technology adoption across the businessSupport governance, compliance and risk management obligationsFoster collaboration and cross-referral opportunities between Accounting and Wealth divisionsAct as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the firm's leadership team.
About You
Ideally you will be an accomplished leader who can combine strong commercial judgment with exceptional people leadership capability.
You may currently be:A General Manager or Practice Manager within a professional services firmA COO or Operations Director seeking broader responsibilityA senior leader from accounting, financial advice, consulting, legal or related advisory environmentsA commercially minded executive who enjoys building scalable, high-performing businesses
To be successful in this role, you will bring:Proven experience in a senior leadership or operational management roleStrong financial and commercial acumenDemonstrated experience leading teams and driving organisational performanceAn ability to influence senior stakeholders and build trusted relationshipsStrong strategic thinking coupled with a hands-on execution mindsetExperience driving operational excellence, process improvement and business transformationA collaborative leadership style that motivates and empowers othersExposure to accounting, wealth management or a broader professional services environments will be highly regarded.
