HSEQ Advisor

About the Role 

Ready to take ownership of safety, quality, and environmental performance? IET is looking for an experienced HSEQ Advisor to join our team and make a genuine impact across our operations. 

In this role, you’ll drive a proactive HSEQ culture across IET — embedding best practice into daily operations, owning our Integrated Management System (IMS), and working closely with operations teams to keep our people safe and our systems compliant. 

This is a hands-on role that requires someone equally comfortable on a worksite and in the office. If you’re looking for a role where your work genuinely makes a difference, this is it. 

Your Responsibilities 

• HSEQ Leadership & Culture — Promote a proactive safety-first culture and build strong relationships with field teams, providing practical guidance and coaching 

• Risk Management & Governance — Identify and manage safety, environmental, and quality risks; ensure SWMS, JSAs, and risk controls are practical and consistently applied 

• Site Inspections & Audits — Conduct site inspections, hazard assessments, and lead or support incident investigations including root cause analysis 

• IMS Ownership & Compliance — Own and govern the Integrated Management System, ensuring it remains compliant, current, and aligned with WHS legislation, environmental regulations, and quality standards 

• Project & Operational Integration — Engage in project planning from the outset, participate in pre-starts and toolbox talks, and collaborate with Project Managers to embed HSEQ requirements 

• Reporting & Continuous Improvement — Prepare HSEQ reports, analyse trends to identify systemic risks, and drive ongoing improvement across systems and performance 

What You’ll Bring 

• Electrical Licence (desirable)

• Demonstrated experience in a HSEQ Advisor or similar role within the electrical industry (essential)

• Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation, environmental regulations, and quality standards 

• Experience owning and managing an IMS, including audits, certifications, and corrective action tracking 

• Proven ability to conduct site inspections, lead incident investigations, and implement corrective actions 

• Certificate IV or Diploma in WHS (or equivalent); tertiary qualifications well regarded 

• Strong communicator with the confidence to engage and influence field teams and leadership alike 

• Current driver’s licence

• Construction Induction Card (White Card)
