Environmental Services Assistant

Be part of our dedicated Environmental Services team at Beleura Private Hospital, helping maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our patients, visitors and staff.

As an Environmental Services Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of high-quality healthcare services by maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across the hospital. Working as part of a supportive team, you will ensure patient rooms, wards, bathrooms and common areas are maintained to a high standard while following hospital procedures and infection control requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain patient rooms, wards, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas to a high standard.
• Perform vacuuming, mopping, dusting and general housekeeping duties throughout the hospital.
• Remove rubbish and waste safely and efficiently in accordance with hospital procedures.
• Operate cleaning machinery and equipment, with training provided where required.
• Follow Infection Prevention and Control, Workplace Health and Safety and Environmental Services procedures at all times.
• Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic environment for patients, visitors and staff.
• Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily cleaning objectives.
• Communicate respectfully and professionally with patients, visitors and hospital staff.
• Identify and report maintenance issues, hazards or concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Demonstrate professionalism, honesty and integrity while consistently delivering high-quality cleaning services.

You Will Also Bring

• Previous experience in housekeeping, cleaning or environmental services is desirable.
• Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare environment is highly regarded.
• Basic understanding of Infection Prevention and Control principles.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A positive, professional and respectful approach.
• Demonstrated reliability, honesty and integrity.
• Ability to follow procedures and work safely in a healthcare environment.
• A willingness to learn and operate cleaning equipment and machinery.
• Flexibility to work required shifts, including weekends as required.
