Dental Assistant and Front Desk Receptionist

About the role

We are seeking a friendly, reliable and motivated Dental Assistant / Front Desk Receptionist to join our team at our Upper Coomera dental practice. This is a combined role involving both chairside dental assisting and front desk/reception duties. The successful candidate will be organised, professional, caring towards patients and comfortable working in a busy dental environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist dentists during examinations and dental procedures

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments and materials

• Sterilise and maintain dental instruments in accordance with infection-control procedures

• Maintain a clean, safe and organised clinical environment

• Assist with dental X-rays where appropriately trained

• Restock clinical rooms and monitor dental supplies

• Support patients before, during and after treatment

• Welcome and assist patients in a friendly and professional manner

• Answer telephone calls and respond to patient enquiries

About you

• Have previous dental assisting and/or dental reception experience

• Have excellent communication and customer service skills

• Be friendly, professional and patient-focused

• Be reliable, punctual and well organised

• Be confident using computers and practice management systems

• Be able to multitask and work efficiently in a busy environment

• Work well independently and as part of a team

• Have strong attention to detail

• Understand the importance of confidentiality and infection control

• Be willing to assist across both clinical and reception duties
