Senior Legal Counsel APAC - Pharmaceuticals - 8 + PQE

A brilliant opportunity has arisen for a senior corporate lawyer to join a leading APAC healthcare and life sciences business in a newly elevated legal leadership role.
This organisation operates across multiple jurisdictions throughout the Asia-Pacific region and is experiencing significant growth across its commercial, manufacturing, and strategic partnership activities. As part of this expansion, they are seeking a commercially astute Senior Legal Counsel to help shape and scale legal, governance, and compliance frameworks across the region.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the General Counsel, you will play a key role in enabling the company's growth agenda by leading strategic transactions, strengthening governance structures, driving compliance initiatives, and optimising contracting processes across APAC.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Leading the legal structuring, negotiation and execution of complex cross-border transactions and strategic commercial dealsAdvising senior executives and business leaders on legal risk, commercial strategy and transaction executionDesigning and maintaining APAC-wide governance frameworks, corporate structures and intercompany arrangementsDeveloping and embedding scalable compliance programs across areas including anti-bribery and corruption, competition law, privacy and ESG obligationsDriving best-practice contracting frameworks, templates, negotiation playbooks and approval processesSupporting business growth while balancing commercial objectives with effective risk management
About You
8 + years' PQE gained in a leading law firm and/or in-house environmentStrong corporate and commercial legal background with significant exposure to the pharmaceutical, healthcare, medical products or broader life sciences sectorDemonstrated experience advising on complex acquisitions, strategic transactions and cross-border mattersDeep understanding of APAC regulatory environments and stakeholder management across multiple jurisdictionsExperience with corporate governance, intercompany arrangements and compliance framework implementationA commercially minded adviser who can confidently influence and partner with C-suite executives
