About the role
We are seeking an Electrical Manager to lead and manage our Electrical business unit. Our business is currently located in Mandurah but will be relocating to Port Kennedy in the near future. In this leadership role, you will drive business growth and oversee the successful delivery of projects, ensuring strong performance across safety, quality, compliance and financial outcomes.
You will develop client relationships, identify new opportunities, prepare and review quotes, lead business development and tender activities, and manage operational teams to achieve and exceed revenue and profit targets. This opportunity would suit someone with junior management or supervisory experience who is ready to take the next step and advance their career into a broader leadership role.
Key responsibilities
Oversee daily operations, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project timelines and budgets.
Manage and lead the electrical team, including field personnel, apprentices and subcontractors, fostering a culture of accountability, safety and continuous improvement.
Provide leadership and mentoring that supports professional development, team cohesion and a high-performance culture.
Develop and implement operational strategies to improve productivity, resource utilisation and cost-efficiency across projects.
Monitor project performance and provide regular reporting to senior leadership on progress, risks and opportunities for improvement.
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and internal policies, including HSE and quality standards.
Coordinate with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships and address operational issues promptly.
Contribute to quoting, tender preparation and business development, leveraging operational insights to support successful bids and secure future project work.
Support workforce planning and mobilisation, ensuring the right resources are in place to meet project demands.
Drive innovation and process improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and adopt best practices.
About you
Experience in the electrical, construction, facilities maintenance or a related industry.
Previous experience in a junior management, supervisory or operational leadership role.
Current WA Electrical Workers Licence.
Current WA Driver's Licence.
Demonstrated experience managing / supervising electrical projects and operational teams across multiple concurrent work streams.
Ability to develop and grow client relationships, secure new business opportunities and contribute to successful tender submissions.
Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring and developing high-performing teams, including tradespeople, apprentices and subcontractors.
Sound knowledge of electrical industry legislation, Australian Standards, WHS requirements and compliance obligations.
Experience in resource planning, scheduling and workforce mobilisation.
Experience in quoting, including preparing and reviewing.
Air conditioning experience would be highly regarded.
Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and job or project management software. Simpro experience is highly regarded.
