Comtex Security & Defence is on the lookout for a motivated Electronic Security Technician to join our growing Sydney-based team.

You’ll get to work on enterprise level, cutting-edge security systems — from CCTV and alarms to access control and intercoms — across varied and high-impact projects in commercial, government, defence, transport, and more. No two days are the same.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Install, program, commission, and service advanced electronic security systems

• Work solo or as part of a dynamic team

• Travel across the Sydney metro area (and sometimes beyond!)

• Tackle real-world challenges — like fault-finding and commissioning large-scale systems

• Represent Comtex to our valued clients — your communication skills matter

What We’re Looking For:

• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role

• Certification in systems like Integriti, Gallagher, or Tecom

• Hands-on with enterprise VMS like Genetec, Milestone, or Avigilon

• NSW Security Licence (or willing to get one)

• Confident with tools, electronics, basic IP networking, and reading security drawings/cable schedules etc.

• Great communicator, self-starter, and team player

Bonus Points if You Have:

• Experience with Inner Range Concept or DOE school systems

• Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident (for security clearance)

• Skills installing electronic locks, cabling, or door hardware

• MSIC/ASIC card

• White Card + EWP/Boom Lift ticket

• Cabling licence
