Apprentice Cabinet Maker / Joinery Installer

Serene Fine Cabinetry designs, manufactures and installs quality custom cabinetry and joinery across residential, commercial and builder projects throughout Victoria.

Operating from our factory in Tullamarine, we work on a wide variety of projects including kitchens, wardrobes, vanities, laundries, entertainment units, commercial fitouts and other custom joinery.

Due to ongoing growth, we’re looking for a full-time Apprentice Cabinet Maker / Joinery Installer to join our team.

This is a varied role offering an equal mix of cabinet making in the factory and installation on site. You’ll work alongside experienced cabinet makers and installers and learn the full process, from assembling and preparing cabinetry through to installing and completing the finished job.

This role would suit someone who enjoys hands-on work, wants to learn all sides of the trade and is keen to become a confident all-round cabinet maker and installer.

What you’ll do

• Manufacture and assemble cabinets, drawers, wardrobes and custom joinery in our Tullamarine factory

• Assist with edging, drilling, hardware installation and cabinet preparation

• Learn to read and interpret plans, drawings and specifications

• Complete factory modifications, resizing, re-cuts and replacement pieces

• Check cabinetry, hardware and components before delivery

• Install kitchens, wardrobes, vanities, laundries and custom joinery on site

• Learn setting out, levelling, fixing, scribing, filler work and final adjustments

• Assist with troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing and installation issues

• Work across residential, commercial and builder projects

• Keep the factory, vehicles and job sites clean, organised and safe

• Represent Serene Fine Cabinetry professionally when dealing with builders, other trades and clients

Who you are

• Currently completing a cabinet making apprenticeship or interested in starting one

• Genuinely interested in both cabinet making and joinery installation

• Enjoys practical, hands-on work

• Reliable, punctual and willing to learn

• Takes pride in neat, accurate and high-quality work

• Comfortable using tools or keen to develop your skills

• Able to follow instructions and work well as part of a team

• Happy to work equally between the factory and different job sites

• Positive attitude and willing to help wherever required

• Driver’s licence and reliable transport

Previous cabinet making, construction, carpentry or installation experience would be helpful but isn’t essential. Attitude, reliability and a genuine willingness to learn are the most important things.
