Solution Architect

Profectus is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to support a major modernisation program within the Australian Government. You will design and assure end to end ICT solutions that address business problems, working closely with subject matter experts, delivery teams and vendors. The work covers application, data, infrastructure, security and integration design, from early requirements through to implementation oversight.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, or assure the design of, ICT solutions and provide oversight through implementationSolicit, analyse and shape stakeholder requirements, maintaining traceability through to delivered outcomesDevelop non functional requirements and confirm test strategies and plans address themDevelop, communicate and validate solution designs with technical and business stakeholdersProvide technical oversight of detailed design activities and build work performed by internal teams and vendorsProvide technical leadership across systems integration activitiesDevelop implementation and transition plans, and support project managers to convert technical plans into delivery schedulesProduce high level and detailed solution architecture covering application, information, infrastructure, security and technology standardsAssure third party designs to confirm they meet requirements and contribute to intended business outcomesWork with the Enterprise Architect and participate in peer review to keep designs aligned to the target architecturePrepare and shepherd architecture artefacts through design and architecture approval processesCoordinate technical work across teams and support continuous improvement of design practice
Required ExperienceProven experience as a Solution Architect delivering ICT solutions in large, government environmentsDemonstrated ability to undertake solution options analysis and design sustainable, value for money solutions that meet business needsExperience assuring the design of third party and vendor delivered solutionsStrong knowledge across cloud and on premise design, including AzureExperience with service oriented architecture, micro services and systems integration designData modelling experience and the ability to assure data designs against target business outcomesExperience preparing architecture artefacts and gaining approval through federal government governance processesStrong written and verbal communication, with the ability to build trust and manage expectations across technical and non technical stakeholdersAbility to work independently, prioritise a varied workload and respond positively to changeBreadth of knowledge across applications, data, infrastructure, security, systems integration and ICT environments, with depth in one or more of these areasRelevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent demonstrated experience

Security Clearance RequirementsMust be an Australian CitizenMust have a current AGSVA Negative Vetting Level 1 Security Clearance
