Earth Moving Mechanic

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

Be in possession of a Grade 12 certificate or N4 equivalent Have an applicable trade certificate as a Earth Moving / Diesel Mechanic Mine Health and Safety Act understanding 5 years + experience as a Earth Moving / Diesel Mechanic Working knowledge of all earthmoving machinery (mobile plant, loaders, dumpers, excavators, LDVs, mobile crushing and screening machines) Basic auto electrical knowledge Working knowledge of different applicable tools Computer literate – MS Office, ability to open job cards Ability to conduct planning is essential Basic welding – Advantageous Spray painting – Advantageous Supervisory skills (Team leader) – Advantageous

Duties And Responsibilities (not Limited To)

The successful candidate will be appointed as a competent person in terms of Regulation 2.9.2 and 2.13.2, together with Section 7.4 of the Mine Health and Safety Act. Ensuring the safe installation, operation, and maintenance of all plant equipment and machinery within designated area of responsibility Plan and perform first line maintenance task on all yellow fleet Perform first line of breakdown repairs on plant and equipment Assist with general duties assigned by Manager Develop, modify, construct, and install related equipment required for the safe operation of all engineering equipment Diagnosis, troubleshooting, fault finding and repair Ordering of spares Complete risk assessments Good experience in hydraulics
