MCWA is an in-home aged care provider with over 40 years’ experience that focuses on supporting the multicultural ageing and elderly communities in Australia. We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nurse Team Leader.
About the Role
The Nurse Team Leader will be responsible for providing leadership, guidance, coaching and performance management to nurses and support workers, ensuring services are delivered in line with organisational values, clinical governance requirements and the Aged Care Quality Standards. Your leadership will be pivotal in driving innovative, person-centred care that meets the unique needs of in-home aged care clients.
What you’ll be doing.
· Lead and support nurses and support workers delivering in-home care services.
· Develop and maintain clinical policies and procedures for nurses and support workers, aligned with home care delivery requirements and aged care regulations.
· Ensure quality assurance, risk management, and clinical governance practices are upheld by nurses and support workers.
· Promote best practices among nurses and support workers in disease management, medication safety, and falls prevention within the home setting.
· Provide supervision, mentoring, and professional development for nurses and support workers across home care teams.
· Support workforce capability through education, coaching and competency assessments.
· Champion a culture of person-centred care, empathy, respect, and responsiveness to client needs and preferences
· Monitor service quality and compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards, workforce planning and business performance.
· Contribute to the implementation of aged care reforms and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
About You
· Degree in nursing required
· Experience with my aged care
· Has a great understanding of the aged care reforms
· Has extensive experience in managing a team
· Has strong time management skills
· Has experience in leading individuals and teams
· Experience managing performance, mentoring staff and supporting workforce development.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work independently and as a part of a multidisciplinary team
· Can maintain an agile approach to operations
· Demonstrate a high level of resilience
· Current AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse (essential).
· Current first aid and CPR certification
