Physiotherapist - Orthopaedics

About the Role:

This is a Fixed Term, full-time position to cover parental leave until late October 2027 at 1.0 FTE per fortnight within the  Physiotherapy Department. Details of each role and the current clinical vacancy associated with that role are outlined below. Various roles and FTE available!

You will be working within the orthopaedic stream where the current clinical vacancy exists in the areas of inpatient orthopaedic surgery, limb reconstruction and orthopaedic outpatients. Some changes in clinical area allocation may occur to achieve best fit across the stream. All staff within the orthopaedic stream are involved in working across other areas of the stream at times, including inpatient and outpatient orthopaedics and musculoskeletal, post-operative and acute respiratory care, burns, plastics, haematology, rheumatology, lymphoedema, developmental care and aquatic therapy. Service delivery within other Physiotherapy streams may be required to meet workforce demands as directed by the manager.

Internally, this position may also be known and/or referred to as: Physiotherapist (Grade 2) - Orthopaedics.

Classification for this position is in accordance with Award 01 - Allied Health.

This will range from VB1 (Grade 2, Year 1) to VB4 (Grade 2, Year 4), FTE base salary $90,235.60-$103,724.40 per annum, plus superannuation.

What you'll achieve:

• Provide clinical care, advice and education in line with clinical guidelines and evidence relevant to the patient's condition and clinical needs
• Ensure timely provision of physiotherapy services through appropriate prioritisation of own caseload, that of junior staff, as well as patient needs
• Work effectively and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to establish common goals and to develop and offer best care to children and families, ensuring that patient care is integrated and effective
• Identify personal and professional development needs, and plan and implement strategies for achieving them

Your skills and experience:

• Hold a Physiotherapy degree qualification and registration to practice as a Physiotherapist with AHPRA
• Have experience working in an acute tertiary and/or acute paediatric environment
• Sound problem solving and conflict resolution skills and the ability to apply these in practice
• Demonstrated skills and experience in areas of physiotherapy practice relevant to the clinical stream

Other requirements:

• Current National Criminal Record Check, or willing to obtain
• Valid Victorian Working with Children Check, or willing to obtain
• Compliance with RCHs "Staff Immunisation - Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases" procedure
