About the role
Are you passionate about improving the lives of healthcare and aged care workers in Australia? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you at the Health Services Union NSW/ACT/QLD (HSU).
The HSU is one of the fastest growing unions in Australia, with 55,323 plus members in Health, Aged care, Disabilities, Paramedics, and Ambulance services. We use our collective power to build a fair and just society through improving pay, job security and conditions for our members.
With a dynamic and passionate team of approximately 125 employees, HSU staff across the organisation work tirelessly to support and assist each other in our mission to grow and develop the industrial, social, and political interests of our members and their communities.
We are looking for an experienced union organiser or campaigner to work with our members and potential members in Queensland. HSU organisers support members to run local and state-wide campaigns and through this grow the membership and power of the Union. HSU organisers have a unique opportunity to work with health and aged care workers who are not afraid to take on the big issues in these industries.
We have two full-time positions available: one permanent position and one fixed-term position for nine months to cover maternity leave.
The successful applicant will work from Brisbane QLD, with some regional and interstate travel involved. Please note that the HSU reserves the right to reallocate organisers to different areas as operationally required.
Please provide a cover letter addressing each of the Essential Skills and Experience listed above with your resume to Jack Nichols via"Apply Now" button.
The HSU encourage applications for this role from current workplace delegates, experienced Organisers, people of all genders, from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and First Nations peoples.
