Building Maintenance Contractor

About the role

MAS Building and Construction is seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Contractor to join our team on a part-time basis. Based in Melbourne VIC 3000, this role offers the flexibility of part-time work whilst contributing to the maintenance and upkeep of commercial properties.

Key responsibilities

• Performing routine maintenance tasks including repairs, painting, plastering, carpentry and general handyperson work on residential and commercial properties

• Responding promptly to maintenance requests and work orders

• Using hand tools, power tools and equipment safely and efficiently to complete tasks to a high standard

• Maintaining a clean and organised work area and ensuring all equipment is stored safely

• Keeping accurate records of work completed, materials used and time spent on each task

• Adhering to all health and safety regulations and company policies at all times

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working as a handyperson, maintenance technician or in a similar maintenance role within the building and construction industry

• Proficiency with a range of hand tools and power tools, including drills, saws, sanders and other standard maintenance equipment

• Knowledge of common building maintenance practices and familiarity with commercial properties

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and repair issues independently

• Excellent time management and organisational abilities to manage multiple tasks and prioritise work effectively

• A valid driver's licence and reliable access to transport for travel between job sites

• A commitment to health and safety standards and the ability to work in compliance with all relevant regulations

• Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach to all interactions

• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules
