Drive awareness and understanding of children's rights across Queensland

Children's Rights Queensland (CRQ) is seeking an experienced and passionate Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our organisation and help deliver our 2026–2029 Strategic Plan, advancing children's rights through education, community engagement and awareness-building initiatives.

About Us

Children's Rights Queensland is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to promoting and advancing children's rights as outlined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). For more than 55 years, CRQ has worked with children, families, communities and stakeholders to raise awareness and understanding of children's rights through education, advocacy and community engagement.

CRQ convenes Children's Week in Queensland, including the Children's Week Awards, Ambassador Program and Grants Program, as well as educational resources and community initiatives that celebrate, promote and advance the rights and wellbeing of children.

About the Role

Reporting to the President and working closely with the Board, the Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the successful implementation of CRQ’s 2026–2029 Strategic Plan and funding agreements. Working collaboratively with the President, Board, Coordinator, volunteers, contractors, and external partners, the Manager drives strategic priorities, builds and maintains key partnerships, and supports the delivery of initiatives that strengthen the impact and sustainability of Children's Rights Queensland and The Children's Rights Shop.

With responsibility spanning marketing and communications, operational coordination, stakeholder engagement, and organisational sustainability, this role is central to enhancing CRQ’s impact, strengthening community connections, and ensuring the long-term success of the organisation.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys combining strategic thinking with practical delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the implementation of CRQ's 2026–2029 Strategic Plan initiatives across children's rights education, community awareness and organisational sustainability.
• Lead marketing, communications, branding and digital engagement activities.
• Deliver Children's Week Queensland and associated Awards, Grants and Ambassador Programs.
• Build and maintain partnerships with government, education, community and corporate stakeholders.
• Develop and grow sponsorships, partnerships and other opportunities that support CRQ's sustainability.
• Support governance, reporting and financial management, including funding and grant acquittals.
• Lead and support the Coordinator – Marketing and Operations, volunteers and contractors.
• Support the growth and sustainability of The Children's Rights Shop.

About You

You are a highly organised and proactive professional with strong leadership and relationship management skills. You are motivated by social impact and enjoy working collaboratively to achieve meaningful outcomes.

You Will Bring

• Qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in marketing, communications, business, events, community engagement, program delivery or a related field.
• Experience developing and delivering marketing, engagement, programs or organisational initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong project management and organisational skills.
• Experience preparing reports and supporting governance processes, including reporting against strategic or business plans.
• The ability to work independently while building effective relationships with the President, Board and key stakeholders.
• A genuine commitment to children's rights and positive social impact.

Desirable

• Experience in the not-for-profit, education or community sectors.
• Experience with sponsorships, partnerships or grant-funded programs.
• Graphic design skills, including Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator) or similar platforms.
• Experience in e-commerce, digital marketing or online sales environments.

• National Police Check
• Current Driver Licence
