$92,583.56 per annum to $98,482.80 per annum

About The Role:

Whitsunday Regional Council is seeking a professional and organised Councillor Support Officer to provide high-level support to Councillors.   This temporary role will give you the opportunity to work in a dynamic local government environment where you will contribute to the success of the elected member support function through effective communication, coordination and administrative support.

Your Impact:

• Support Councillors to effectively represent and respond to the needs of the Whitsunday community through high-quality administrative, governance and stakeholder support.
• Ensure elected members are informed, prepared and well-coordinated for meetings, engagements and community interactions.
• Foster strong relationships between Councillors, Council and the community through responsive communication and professional service delivery.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Managing Councillor calendars, diaries, travel arrangements and schedules.
• Coordinate meetings, briefings and events, including venue and catering arrangements.
• Acting as a point of contact for community members, stakeholders and government agencies when required.
• Managing and responding to correspondence, enquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Assisting with the preparation of briefing materials, agendas and meeting minutes.
• Providing administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the Governance Branch.
• Liaising with Councillors, the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• A current C Class Driver Licence.
• Experience in a local government environment.
• Strong administrative, organisational and customer service skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel.
• Sound judgement, discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.
