About The Role 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a People & Capability Advisor to join our collaborative team supporting our workforce in QLD & New Zealand.

The People & Capability Advisor (QLD & NZ) provides advice, guidance and operational HR support across the employee lifecycle. The role partners closely with leaders and employees to ensure people practices align with company values, legislative requirements and business objectives.

The People & Capability Advisor is responsible for delivering proactive and practical support across employee relations, performance management, recruitment, onboarding, workforce compliance, employee engagement and HR administration.

This role acts as a trusted advisor to supervisors and managers while supporting the broader People & Capability strategy and initiatives. The role is to be supporting our Brisbane and Gold Coast depots as well as multiple locations across NZ. 

Working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, your key responsibilities will include: 

Performance & Development

• Coach leaders on performance management processes and best practice.
• Support probation reviews, performance improvement plans and annual review processes.
• Assist in identifying learning and development opportunities.
• Promote a culture of respect for people, manage by fact and continuous improvement.

Recruitment & Onboarding

• Coordinate end-to-end recruitment activities including advertising, screening and interviewing.
• Support hiring managers with recruitment best practices.
• Manage onboarding and induction processes.
• Ensure all employment documentation is accurate and completed in a timely manner.

Employee Lifecycle Management

• Prepare employment contracts and variation letters.
• Manage employee changes including promotions, transfers and remuneration updates.
• Coordinate employee exits including offboarding and exit interviews.
• Support workforce planning activities as required.

Compliance & HR Administration

• Ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal policies.
• Monitor employee records, licences, certifications and right-to-work documentation.
• Assist with audits and reporting requirements.
• Assist with maintaining HRIS data accuracy and documentation standards.

Engagement & Culture

• Support employee engagement initiatives and wellbeing programs.
• Assist in developing and implementing People & Culture projects.
• Promote company values and positive workplace behaviours.
• Support the delivery of recognition and reward programs.

People & Capability Projects

• Participate in P&C improvement initiatives and projects.
• Support organisational change activities and communication plans.

About You 

To be successful for this role, you will have: 

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in People & Capability Advisory role, preferred within the Infrastructure, Asset Maintenance, Water & Wastewater, or Civil Construction sectors.

• Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources. 

• Strong knowledge in Industrial and Employee Relations. 

• Eye for detail.
