About the role
Are you an experienced South Australian based Post Producer / Writer with documentary and factual television experience? Are you interested in working on a range of new natural history and ob-doc programs?
Based at Adelaide Studios in Glenside, Breakout Productions is Adelaide’s leading producer of factual television with a focus on the natural world. Our shows are commissioned by some of the biggest broadcasters on the planet including Warner Brothers Discovery, National Geographic, Love Nature and the ABC.
We’re looking for a creative, driven and resourceful person to join us for up to 16 weeks (with the possibility of a long-term extension) in early 2027. The role will be based at our offices at the South Australian Film Corporation, working directly with our Editors and Executive Producer.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Experience working with Avid editing software- Ten years experience post producing / writing for factual television and documentaries- Excellent storytelling skills with the ability to balance narrative, factual accuracy, and tonal consistency across episodes- Experience editing comprehensive "string-outs" or “assembly edits”- Ability to work within a team and handle multiple projects under tight deadlines- Can work both collaboratively and autonomously- Proactive, with a high level of attention to detail- South Australian Resident- Experience producing wildlife or natural history content is highly desirable
