The lyf Elizabeth Melbourne, managed by The Ascott Limited, now seeks an enthusiastic and dedicated person to join as Chef de Partie.  This full-time role will report to the Head Chef and work closely with other departments. lyf Elizabeth Melbourne is a brand-new hotel that just opened in December 2025!

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Preparing, cooking and presenting high-quality dishes within your designated kitchen section.

• Supervising daily operations of your section to ensure consistency, quality and adherence to recipes.

• Training, mentoring and supporting junior kitchen team members in culinary techniques and food safety practices.

• Managing stock levels, assisting with ordering and minimising waste to support cost-effective kitchen operations.

• Collaborating with the culinary team on menu development, kitchen coordination and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
  

To be successful in this role you must have:

• Demonstrated experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role within a busy commercial kitchen.

• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, presentation standards and kitchen operations.

• A sound understanding of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively across kitchen and front-of-house teams.

• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
