PASTRY COOK / FOOD PREP SUPERSTAR

Casual with opportunity to move into Part-Time | Moorabbin

We’re looking for an experienced Pastry Cook / Food Prep Superstar to join the FOODstyling team at our Moorabbin Food Prep Kitchen.

This is initially a casual position, with the opportunity for the right person to come on board in a more permanent part-time capacity.

Days: Monday, Wednesday & Friday
Hours: Approximately 10am–3pm
There is some flexibility with hours, however shifts must be worked during the day.

ABOUT US

FOODstyling is a Melbourne-based catering business that also operates two café spaces in Doveton and Wheelers Hill.

Our Moorabbin prep kitchen produces a range of homemade products for our cafés and catering operations, including sausage rolls, cakes, slices, tray bakes and other sweet and savoury items.

We’re looking for the right person to help us continue producing these favourites, while also bringing fresh ideas and helping us expand the range of products we make in-house.

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has a minimum of 3 years' baking/pastry experience, ideally within a commercial kitchen.
• Is confident working independently without constant supervision.
• Is motivated, organised and able to work at a good, consistent pace.
• Takes pride in producing quality, well-presented food.
• Must be able to handle all food and protein types.
• Has ideas! We really value team members who can contribute suggestions, develop new products and bring something extra to our business.
• Is reliable, personable and takes pride in their presentation.
• Holds a current driver's licence and has their own reliable transport to get to and from our Moorabbin kitchen.

THE ROLE

Your day may include:

• Baking cakes, slices and tray bakes.
• Preparing our homemade sausage rolls and savoury products.
• General food and catering preparation.
• Preparing products for delivery to our café locations.
• Assisting with new product ideas and recipe development.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and food-safe kitchen.

From time to time, you may also be required to deliver products to our cafés during your allocated shift. A FOODstyling vehicle will be provided for these deliveries.

As we head into our busier catering periods, there will also be opportunities for additional hours and shifts.

Pay: $35.00 – $40.00 per hour
