Academic Course Coordinator (Property)

• Location: Manly Campus 
• Reports to: Senior Program Manager (Sports and Property) 
• Contract: Fixed term, 2 years, with potential to transition to a continuing appointment subject to performance and organisational need.  
• FTE Salary: $100,000–$110,000 excluding super (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
• 0.5 FTE: $50,000-55,000 excluding superannuation)
• Part-time role: 0.5 FTE  (16 hours per week)

The International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS) is seeking an experienced and industry-connected academic professional to join our academic community as Course Coordinator (Property), part-time role. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the delivery, quality assurance and continuous improvement of ICMS Bachelor of Property courses, while strengthening the connection between higher education, professional accreditation and contemporary industry practice.

The Course Coordinator role is offered as a part-time academic leadership position (0.5 FTE). For candidates interested in contributing further to teaching, additional teaching opportunities may be available through a separate teaching appointment, subject to discipline needs and qualifications. 

The Role 

As Course Coordinator (Property), you will play a central role in coordinating the effective day to day delivery, academic quality and ongoing development of ICMS Property courses. Reporting to the Senior Program Manager and working closely with teaching faculty, professional staff, students, industry partners and professional bodies, you will help ensure that students receive a high-quality, industry-relevant and professionally aligned learning experience.  

This is a coordination role with a focus on Property education, curriculum relevance, student progression, course quality assurance and industry engagement. A key feature of the role is supporting professional accreditation requirements, including those associated with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), and ensuring that accreditation expectations are embedded in course review, curriculum development, assessment review and continuous improvement processes.  

You will act as an important liaison between students, lecturers, professional staff and external stakeholders, supporting student success while helping to ensure that Bachelor of Property courses remain current, professionally credible and aligned with industry expectations.  

Key Accountabilities 

• Student engagement and support: Provide academic advice, progression guidance and consultation for Property students, including support for students at risk, enrolment and retention matters, and liaison with the Student Success Centre.  
• Course coordination and academic operations: Support the planning, coordination and consistency of course and subject delivery across teaching teams, locations and delivery modes, including timetabling, subject sign-off, assessment processes and course completion activities.  
• Quality assurance and continuous improvement: Contribute to course and subject review cycles, monitor student outcomes and student experience data, and support improvement actions that enhance teaching quality, curriculum relevance and the overall student learning experience.  
• Professional accreditation and industry alignment: Support the management, maintenance and reporting of professional accreditation requirements, including Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) accreditation, course and competency mapping, evidence collection, accreditation recommendations and ongoing compliance monitoring.  
• Industry engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with Property industry partners, employers, alumni, guest lecturers and professional bodies to strengthen employability, Work Integrated Learning, curriculum relevance and industry engagement.  
• Scholarship: Contribute to teaching, scholarly activity, peer review and professional development that supports contemporary Property education and strengthens the academic culture of ICMS.  
• Community contribution: Represent the Property course at student orientation, open days, academic information sessions and other events that support student recruitment, engagement and success.  

Selection Criteria 

The successful candidate will bring a combination of academic experience, Property industry knowledge and strong interpersonal capability. Essential requirements include: 

• A Master’s degree or equivalent professional qualification in Property, Valuation, Real Estate, Property Development or a closely related field.  
• Experience teaching and supporting diverse student cohorts.  
• Property industry experience and engagement with relevant professional bodies, including Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Australian Property Institute (API) or comparable organisations.  
• Strong communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills.  
• Experience working effectively in a team-based academic or professional environment.  
• Desirable experience includes knowledge of professional accreditation requirements, competency-based education frameworks and quality assurance processes associated with Property education, membership of a relevant professional association such as Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or Australian Property Institute (API); and experience in academic coordination or management within a tertiary setting.
