HVAC/Refrigeration Technician - Cherry Creek

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to join our team at the Cherry Creek, delivering preventative, reactive and corrective maintenance services across a diverse range of HVAC and refrigeration assets.

Salary and Benefits

• HVAC Level 1: $57.50 per hour ($2,185 per week)
• Annual wage increases in accordance with the Enterprise Agreement.

Position Purpose

The HVAC Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems across the Cherry Creek Justice Precinct. The role ensures critical assets remain safe, compliant and operational while supporting the delivery of high-quality facilities maintenance services.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive and corrective maintenance and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose and rectify faults across HVAC, refrigeration, and control systems.
• Conduct inspections, testing and condition assessments of asset performance.
• Maintain and repair VRV Systems, Ventilation systems, Refrigeration equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and controls-related issues.
• Complete work orders, service reports and compliance records accurately and on time.
• Prepare job safety and pre-work documentation.
• Raise remedial works and material requirements where required.
• Prepare quotations for additional works.
• Ensure all works comply with relevant legislation, standards and Ventia procedures.
• Work collaboratively with maintenance teams and subcontractors.
• Respond to urgent breakdowns and critical asset failures.
• Maintain positive working relationships with site stakeholders.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
• Current ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence (RAC01).
• Restricted Electrical Workers Licence or Disconnect/Reconnect Licence.
• Current Victorian Driver Licence.

Desirable

• Victorian Building Authority (VBA) Refrigerated Air Conditioning Registration or Mechanical Services Licence.
• Working at Heights certification.
• Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Licence.
• First Aid Certificate.

Other Requirements

As this position is located within a Youth Justice facility, successful applicants must be able to obtain and maintain: National Police Check, Victorian Working with Children Check, Site-specific security clearances and Medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening.
