Senior Policy and Advocacy Officer

Summary:

The Senior Policy and Advocacy Officer will play a pivotal role in shaping and influencing marketing policies within the Northern Territory. This position is essential for driving advocacy efforts, engaging with stakeholders, and ensuring that the organisation’s objectives align with industry standards and government regulations. Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement advocacy strategies to influence marketing policies at local and national levels.
• Engage with government officials, industry stakeholders, and community groups to promote the organisation’s objectives.
• Conduct research and analysis on relevant policy issues affecting the marketing industry.
• Prepare reports, position papers, and presentations to communicate policy recommendations effectively.
• Monitor legislative developments and assess their impact on the organisation and its stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align advocacy efforts with organisational goals.
• Organise and participate in events, workshops, and forums to raise awareness of key issues.
• Provide expert advice and guidance on policy matters to senior management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in policy development, advocacy, or a related area within the marketing sector.
• Strong understanding of the marketing landscape and relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Proven analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex information.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with policy analysis tools.
