About the role
FIFO to Kalgoorlie | Rosters 2:1, 2:2, 9:5, or 8:6
Topdrill, one of Australia's leading privately owned Drilling companies, has been rapidly growing over the past 18 months, with predictions for continuous growth into the next few years
Currently, Topdrill has a fleet of 40 rigs and employs 500 staff. Our rigs are all late model and utilise industry-leading, hands-free rod handling systems. We're looking for high performing Drill Fitters to be a part of Topdrill's next exciting growth phase.
Available Positions:
We seek dedicated and experienced candidates who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, working independently with meticulous attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform servicing, maintenance, and inspections on exploration drilling equipment, including diamond and RC drill rigs and ancillary equipment such as boosters & auxiliary compressors
Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and engine-related faults on mobile drilling equipment i
Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure maximum drill rig reliability in remote field environments
Carry out breakdown repairs in field locations with minimal supervision to reduce operational downtime
Inspect, repair, and replace components such as hydraulic pumps, hoses, rotary heads, compressors, and support equipment
Assist with rig mobilisations, demobilisations, and setup to ensure equipment is operationally ready
Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports, and parts inventory usage
Ensure compliance with company safety procedures, environmental requirements, and site regulations
Work closely with drillers and field supervisors to plan maintenance activities and respond to operational issues
Maintain tools, service vehicles, and field workshops in a clean, organised, and serviceable condition
Identify equipment improvement opportunities and report recurring faults or reliability issues
Participate in safety meetings, field risk assessments, and hazard identification processes
Ideal Candidates Will Have Experience With:
- Schramm Drill Rigs
- Sandvik/UDR Drill Rigs
- Hurricane Boosters
Essential Criteria:
Strong commitment to safety
Can work both as part of a team and autonomously when required
Certificate III in Mechanical Trade (Fitting)
C class driver's license
Full working rights in Australia (valid visas will be considered)
Ability to pass pre-employment medical and ongoing drug & alcohol screening
