Data Engineer (Junior)

PERSOL is partnering with a global mining client to hire a Data Engineer to join its Systems team. In this role, you will develop and enhance a suite of software applications and data platforms that support mine planning and other Technical Services functions.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to core development of the data platform
• Design and build scalable, reusable dbt models and macros
• Develop and maintain data pipelines using dbt-core in Snowflake
• Refactor and optimize existing codebase for performance, scalability, and maintainability
• Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code following best practices.
• Collaborate with team members through code reviews and technical discussions
• Troubleshoot data issues and optimize query performance in Snowflake

Required:

• Strong proficiency in SQL, dbt (core), Snowflake, and Python.
• 1+ Years of experience.
• Strong data modelling experience in Data Vault & Dimensional Modelling
• Basic familiarity with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a highly fast-paced environment
