We are seeking experienced Emergency and Critical Care Veterinary Nurses to join our weekend team. These positions are specifically for nurses available to work regular Saturday and Sunday shifts.

VSOS is a privately owned, specialist-led, 24/7 emergency and referral hospital located in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire. We deliver advanced veterinary care across emergency and critical care, surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, anaesthesia and more.

As part of our weekend Emergency and Critical Care team, you will:

• Deliver exceptional nursing care to emergency and critically ill patients

• Triage and undertake initial assessments of emergency presentations

• Monitor patients closely and respond appropriately to changes in their condition

• Monitor anaesthesia and assist with advanced procedures

• Perform diagnostics and manage complex clinical treatments

• Make confident nursing decisions within your scope of practice

• Communicate compassionately with clients during difficult moments

• Maintain accurate medical records using SmartFlow and ezyVet

• Work collaboratively with experienced ECC veterinarians, specialists and veterinary nurses

We are seeking experienced veterinary nurses who can confidently work in a busy emergency environment and contribute effectively to our weekend team.

The ideal candidate will be:

• Experienced in emergency and critical care nursing

• Calm, efficient and confident under pressure

• A strong communicator and supportive teammate

• Organised, proactive and detail-focused

• Resilient, compassionate and committed to high-quality patient care

• Available to work regular weekend shifts, including Saturdays and Sundays

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or an equivalent qualification

• A minimum of two years’ clinical veterinary nursing experience

• Availability to work weekends

• Previous emergency and critical care experience is strongly preferred

• Permanent part-time and casual weekend opportunities
