About Us

Peninsula Health Centre is a thriving bulk-billing General Practice providing comprehensive healthcare to the local community, while The Mole Clinic is our private-billing Skin Cancer Centre, delivering expert skin cancer detection, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing surveillance.

About the Role

This is a casual Registered Nurse position, initially offering approximately one day per week, with excellent opportunity for additional hours as our practice continues to grow.

Working across both clinics, you’ll combine traditional General Practice nursing with specialised skin cancer nursing. As a valued member of our small, collaborative team, you’ll also assist with reception and administrative duties when required to help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.

General Practice Nursing

·      Treatment room nursing

·      Immunisations

·      Wound care and dressings

·      ECGs

·      Health assessments

·      Care plans and health checks

·      Chronic disease management

·      Assisting with intravenous iron infusions

·      Women’s and men’s health

·      Cold chain management

·      Infection prevention and control

·      Patient education

·      Triage and clinical assessment

·      Stock and vaccine management

Skin Cancer Nursing

·      Assist doctors during skin cancer procedures

·      Biopsies

·      Excisions

·      Skin flaps and grafts

·      Surgical set-up and sterile field preparation

·      Instrument sterilisation and infection control

·      Histology specimen preparation and courier management

·      Wound reviews and post-operative care

·      Suture removal

·      Patient education regarding wound care and skin cancer prevention

·      Total Body Photography (TBP)

·      Dermoscopy imaging (training provided)

Clinical Administration

·      Accurate clinical documentation using Best Practice clinical software

·      Patient recalls and reminders

·      Medicare billing and procedure billing

·      Assist with reception and administrative duties when required

·      Manage treatment room supplies and consumables

·      Coordinate referrals and specialist correspondence

·      Support accreditation, quality improvement and infection control activities

·      Supervision and support of our Enrolled Nurse

About You

We’re looking for someone who is compassionate, organised and genuinely enjoys providing exceptional patient care.

You will have:

·      Current AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse

·      Previous General Practice nursing experience (essential)

·      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

·      Strong organisational and time management abilities

·      High attention to detail

·      Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

·      Professional, proactive and patient-focused approach

·      Passion for continuous learning

·      Experience using Best Practice clinical software (desirable but not essential)

·      An interest in skin cancer medicine (training provided)

Experience in skin cancer medicine or procedural nursing is highly regarded but not essential. Full training and ongoing support will be provided to the right candidate.
