Medical Receptionist

Sterling Medical Centre is looking for a friendly, capable and genuinely people-focused Medical Receptionist to join our team at our beautiful new purpose-built medical centre in Burpengary.

We’ve recently relocated to our new premises at 658 Morayfield Road, Burpengary, and with our practice continuing to grow, we need another superstar at the front desk.

Sterling Medical Centre is a busy, GP-owned medical practice with a large team of GPs, amazing nurses, allied health professionals and administration staff.

We take what we do seriously – but we don't believe that means we have to take ourselves seriously all the time.

Our reception team is a huge part of our practice. They are the first hello, the problem solvers, the appointment jugglers, the calm voice on the phone and, occasionally, the people who somehow manage to find an appointment where absolutely no appointment appeared to exist.

Your day will include:

• Welcoming patients and making them feel comfortable

• Managing a busy appointment book

• Answering incoming calls

• Booking and changing appointments

• Processing Medicare and private billing

• Managing patient enquiries

• Scanning, recalls, correspondence and general administration

• Communicating with doctors, nurses and allied health providers

• Helping keep reception running smoothly when things get busy

• Being part of a team that genuinely helps each other out

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Warm, friendly and confident with people

• Reliable and punctual

• Organised and able to multitask

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

• Professional and respectful of patient confidentiality

• Able to communicate well with patients of all ages and backgrounds

• A genuine team player

• Someone who can use initiative rather than waiting to be told every little thing

• And, importantly, someone who can maintain a sense of humour when the phone is ringing, three patients arrive at once and a doctor asks, “Can you just quickly…?”

Experience in medical reception is preferred, but it isn't everything.

Experience with Best Practice software would be fantastic, but it is not essential.

If you have excellent customer service skills, you're quick to learn, you genuinely enjoy working with people and you're the right fit for our team, we'd still love to hear from you.

You'll be joining an established practice in our brand-new purpose-built medical centre, working alongside a great group of doctors, nurses, allied health professionals and administration staff.
