Senior Design Engineer

FOUNDING ENGINEERING TEAM — NETTLEFOLD PROJECTS

Nettlefold Projects is building a high calibre multidisciplinary engineering team to support major data centre, mining, energy and critical infrastructure projects across Australia.

We are seeking three senior engineers who will form the technical foundation of the company:

• Senior Mechanical Engineer
• Senior Electrical Engineer — Grid Modelling & Power Systems
• Senior Civil Engineer

These are not conventional engineering vacancies. We are looking for hands on technical leaders who want to help build a growing engineering consultancy, develop client relationships and take ownership of complete packages of work.

The successful candidates will be equally comfortable undertaking detailed engineering, leading multidisciplinary teams, meeting with clients and contributing to tenders and proposals.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and deliver discipline specific engineering packages
• Remain actively involved in design, calculations and technical reviews
• Prepare scopes, estimates, methodologies and tender submissions
• Build trusted relationships with clients, contractors and project partners
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design and project interfaces
• Support construction, commissioning and technical assurance
• Mentor junior engineers and help develop internal capability
• Establish practical engineering systems, standards and delivery processes
• Help grow Nettlefold Projects’ presence across data centres, mining and critical infrastructure

Senior Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking experience across areas such as mission-critical cooling, chilled-water systems, HVAC, pumps, piping, ventilation, utilities and mechanical infrastructure. Data-centre, mining or heavy-industrial experience would be highly regarded.

Senior Electrical Engineer — Grid Modelling & Power Systems

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in grid connections and power-system modelling, including load flow, short-circuit, protection, harmonics, dynamic studies and connection applications. Experience with software such as PSS®E, PSCAD, PowerFactory or ETAP and knowledge of the NER and AEMO connection process will be highly regarded.

Senior Civil Engineer

We are seeking broad civil capability across earthworks, drainage, roads, site development, utilities and heavy civil infrastructure. Experience supporting mining developments, tailings facilities, data centre campuses or major infrastructure projects would be valuable. Familiarity with 12d Model and working closely with civil designers and drafters would be advantageous.

About you:

• Approximately 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
• Chartered status or eligibility for CPEng and RPEQ/NER registration preferred
• Strong technical and commercial judgement
• Comfortable working directly with senior clients
• Proven ability to scope, price and deliver engineering packages
• Hands-on, practical and willing to work across both design and delivery
• Able to operate effectively in a growing, entrepreneurial business
• Interested in building a team and capability, not simply filling a position
