About the role
Through your work, you’ll have a behind-the-scenes pass to Newcastle’s evolution as you help shape our future as a liveable, inclusive city.
City of Newcastle is seeking an experienced Technical Officer with a background in transport, traffic management, civil construction or infrastructure delivery to join our Traffic and Transport team. In this role, you will provide technical advice to internal and external stakeholders and contribute to the effective management of Newcastle’s road and transport network.
As Technical Officer, you will assess and determine temporary road occupancy licence applications and other permits relating to the use of road space. Working alongside Traffic Engineers and Transport Planners, you will be involved in a diverse range of traffic and transport investigations, projects and operational initiatives. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your practical experience, broaden your technical and interpersonal skills, and continue building your expertise in a collaborative and supportive team environment.
